Serena Tisby

Director of Clinical Services

Serena’s passion for healthcare started at birth. Growing up as a child with a complex medical history, was a blessing because it gave Serena a birds-eye view of the life of a nurse. Some of her fondest memories were being in the hospital, in doctor’s office talking or crying in the arms of a nurses.

As a patient, she learned how to be a good nurse. Serena’s nursing career started 16 years ago as a certified nursing assistant working in a rehabilitation facility that focused on traumatic brain injuries and post-acute care/rehabilitation. During the first six months of her employment, she received a two-year nursing scholarship. Upon successful completion of the nursing program, Serena graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and immediately, entered into various arenas of nursing. Serena has gained experience in case management, long term acute care, private and skilled nursing, along with general, thoracic and vascular surgery.

Serena also has extensive training in specialized wound care. In 2019, she was appointed to the Colorado State Board of Nursing to assist in development of rules and regulations related to licensing for LPN and RN's. Given her years of experience, she has a strong desire to teach and provide the highest level of care, which has ignited Serena to continue her nursing journey in Assisted Living and Memory care.

Serena is a Colorado native.  She has been happily married for 20 years and blessed with two daughters: 24yrs and 19yrs old, a 7 year old son and a 3 year old grandson. When she’s not working, she enjoys working out! Serena is a former half marathon runner. She also enjoys traveling and volunteering in the community with my family and spending time with my friends.
